Summary/Scope of Work

Our rapidly growing company is looking for a motivated Business Development Manager to develop and implement growth strategies in law enforcement and military training opportunities for the achievement of revenue goals. Candidates should have the right blend of analytical talent and business know-how. Successful applicants should be team players who not only understand how to identify a new market opportunity but also know what it takes to lead a team forward and realize that opportunity. We’re especially looking for someone with great communication skills, as you’ll be expected to interact with clients, executives and partner companies on a daily basis. Preference will be given to candidates who plan to stay and grow with our company for the foreseeable future.

Jobs Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develops company growth strategy focused on financial gain and contractor satisfaction
  • Conducts research to identify new markets and contractor needs
  • Maintains current client relationships and identifies potential clients
  • Monitors market areas and completes timely review for all potential contract opportunities
  • Arranges business meetings with prospective partner companies; develops and builds long term relationships with prospective and existing partner companies
  • Promotes company’s products/services by identifying or forecasting contractors objectives
  • Prepares written proposals, capabilities statements, RFI/sources sought responses and similar documents; ensures documents adhere to law-established rules and guidelines
  • Maintains records of sales, revenue, invoices, etc.
  • Provides trustworthy feedback and after-contract support
  • Identifies and assesses new business opportunities; assigns appropriate organizational resources enhancing organizational growth
  • Leads organization marketing and branding initiatives

Minimum Requirement and Education

  • BS/BA in business administration, sales or relevant field
  • Previous law enforcement or military training experience required
  • Minimum five (5) years business development or program management experience
  • Experience in customer support or government contracting
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Proficiency in English, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport, negotiate, and make sound business decisions
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter, strong time management and planning skills
  • Strong organizational talents and ability to work under pressure and in new environments
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Innate drive to succeed and take initiative
  • Demonstrated networking capabilities with acquisition officials/leads with governments agencies such as DOD, DHS highly preferred

Work Environment

Ability to work in an office setting

Availability to work extended hours if required

Accurately follow verbal and written directions from senior management, and possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality and accuracy

Exhibit a professional, business-like appearance and demeanor
