JCI Industries is looking for a Motor Shop Manager to join our team in Lee's Summit, MO .
As a Motor Shop Manager , you will be responsible for the repair and rebuild of electric motors, as well as lead a team of 8-10 technicians and motor winders.
What You'll Do :
- Lead one of the top Motor Repair Shops in the Midwest.
- Train and develop associate skill levels to include but not limited to : on-the-job training, cross-training coverage, safe work habits, and good housekeeping in the motor shop.
- Support ongoing development of associates by providing clear performance expectations, specific feedback on behaviors, effective coaching, mentoring, identifying, and providing developmental opportunities.
- Identify, develop, and implement process improvements and changes in equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes supporting cost and quality efficiencies.
- Approve time / absence reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, etc.
- Work closely with management and Human Resources on annual reviews, pay raises, attendance, rewards, disciplinary and any other personnel issues that may arise.
- Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify electric motors and related components issues.
- Perform repairs, overhauls, and routine maintenance on various electric motors, including but not limited to AC and DC motors.
- Verify the functionality and efficiency of repaired motors by conducting tests and quality control checks.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and other relevant information.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards to guarantee a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain repair processes, provide estimates, and address any questions or concerns.
- Other duties may be assigned.
