OTC Markets Group Inc., operator of premier US financial marketplaces, is seeking a Senior QA Lead to join our Technology team.

Please note OTC Markets is currently operating in a hybrid work environment (three days in office, two days remotely). This position is located in our NYC office.

Base compensation for this role is up to $200,000 annually, depending on experience. In addition, the position is eligible for our discretionary annual bonus program and equity.


What You’ll Do:
  • Utilize testing, technical, and trading system knowledge to understand software system changes and deliver automation-centric testing solutions.
  • Mentor and guide senior and junior QA engineers by pulling and pushing when necessary.
  • Manage and troubleshoot multiple testing environments efficiently.
  • Collaborate with developers, business teams, and stakeholders to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Debug, reproduce, and analyze production issues to enhance system stability.
  • Implement best practices in documenting test cases and automation test scripting.
  • Create the best QA test platform for the trading systems.
  • Additional responsibilities, as assigned.


What We’re Looking For:
  • 10 years of experience in an environment with software design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • 5 years of experience as a QA Engineer, focusing on low-latency client/server applications.
  • 5 years of experience leading a team of QA Engineers, providing them with technical expertise.
  • Strong analytical and test case writing skills.
  • 5 years of Linux/Unix experience (Red Hat preferred).
  • Hands-on testing experience with high availability testing and system failure recovery (failover, clustering, load balancing, etc.) for trading and related systems.
  • Strong Linux/Unix command-line skills, including shell scripting (Bash) for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with troubleshooting applications that run on Linux.
  • Understanding of network protocols like Multicast, TCP
  • Experience in building and/or modifying an automation testing harness.
  • Intermediate to advanced programming/scripting skills with languages like Perl and/or Python.
  • Knowledge and experience using HTTP methods used by RESTful web development (GET, POST, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Excel at multitasking, problem-solving, and adapting to change.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and a results-driven mindset are essential.

 
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience with trading and financial applications.
  • Knowledge of messaging systems like TibcoRV , FTL and 29 West
  • Experience with the FIX protocol and FIX messages and their role in trading systems.
  • Proven experience debugging and reproducing production issues in complex systems.
  • Ability to build a new test harness from the ground up.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
