• Temporary Transition Program Functional Learning Center Instructional Assistant (2024-2025)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT / SALARY:

• 5 hours per day
• $18.12-$24.04 (DOE)

STARTING DATE:

• November 2024

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates degree, 72 quarter (48 semester) hours of post-secondary coursework or High School Diploma and pass a rigorous Paraeducator local assessment.
• Evidence of good leadership and citizenship qualities and an interest in
• Ability to communicate well with adults and
• Prior job-related experience recommended, but not
• Preferred Qualification: Strong Reading and Math
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable; and
• Have a current First Aid
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be willing to learn about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ADS) and how autism affects students; to listen, learn, and respond to individual students with ADS; and to reflect on own practices to continuously develop one’s own knowledge and skills regarding ASD
• Assist students with Autism and support them to develop and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance.
