Assistant Director Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions

We are searching for an experienced Assistant Director Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions at our Goldsmith Campus - Westchester campus.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

The Assistant Director, Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions oversees the Admissions tour program on campus, including oversight of Admissions tour guides. This includes group tours and assisting with on campus events as a part of the Events Committee. In addition, this role will oversee recruitment for two graduate MFA programs and coordinates the review of applications with graduate departments. Evening and weekend hours are required on occasion to meet operational needs. Local travel is expected for this role. This position reports directly to Director of Admissions.

CORE DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Manages the campus tour program ensuring that prospective students and families have a high-quality experience when touring the College. Responsible for preparing the campus tour script, training student ambassadors and admissions counselors and ensuring adequate staffing.
  • Assists the Director of Admissions with managing the recruitment outreach plan that supports the College's overall enrollment goals. Assists with scheduling local high school visits and liaising with counselors and teachers. Conducts some local recruitment outreach, school visits and attends occasional portfolio days / events across the U.S.
  • Promote graduate programs to prospective MFA students assisting them with application steps. Liaises with graduate departments to review MFA applicants. Engages with accepted and deposited MFA students to ensure strong yield. Develops anti-melt initiatives to engage future MFA students including onboarding activities, events and assisting with orientation.
  • Responsible for high touch engagement with local key feeder schools working with the Executive Director of Admissions Pathways to offer workshops and special campus visits.
  • For both undergraduate and graduate students, gives virtual presentations and info sessions, meets with students for counseling appointments both in person and over Zoom. Engages with campus visitors before and after campus tours.
  • Responsible for overseeing Campus Group Tours, ensuring tour guide coverage and working to engage department Chairs and faculty with the Executive Director of Admissions Pathways.
  • Manages VIP Tour requests ensuring tour guide coverage and personalized attention.
  • Serves as a member of the events committee assisting with on campus events such as Open Houses, Accepted Student Day and Transfer Day events. Assists the Executive Director with tasks related to event planning and organization, including oversight of student workers.
  • Assists prospective students and applicants by answering questions over email, phone, text and in person appointments. Conducts outreach campaigns and assists with enrolling accepted and deposited students ensuring that sufficient personal outreach is conducted by the recruitment team.
  • Responsible for Spring application review, yield and enrollment. Ensures applications are reviewed and decisions released in a timely manner.
  • Stays informed of developments in field of enrollment management, admissions recruitment, higher education and DEIB. Reads pertinent literature, attends meetings, and participates on committees and professional associations as appropriate. Establishes and maintains an active network of professional contacts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Must be responsive to work-related phone calls and emails during non-business hours on occasion.

Required Qualifications :

REQUIRED SKILLS and EDUCATION :

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. A minimum of 4 years of experience working in recruitment and admissions, higher education is required. Excellent public speaking skills. 2 years of experience managing student workers. Must be willing and able to travel and work evenings and weekends.

PREFERRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE :

Experience working in a CRM preferred. Experience and / or education at a fine art and design highly desirable.

FLSA Status : Exempt

Compensation Type : Annual Salary

Salary Range : 71,884.00 - 78,744.00
