Education Requirement Applicants must have attended post-secondary schooling in elevator related fields, i.e., electrical, mechanical, or other technology related fields. Work activities include New elevator installations Elevator modernizations and upgrades Service and repair work on elevators and escalators Desired Skills The elevator trade requires a variety of skill sets for individuals to be successful in the field. These include but are not limited to the following: Assembling of elevator components Hoisting and rigging for new installations or major repair work Alignment of elevator components Wiring and working with both serial link and discrete electrical components Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting Working with digital and software base control equipment and motor drives Job Background Competitive wage and benefit package Employer-paid apprenticeship program Must be eligible for membership in the International Union of Elevator Constructors upon hire.
