A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A PROJECT MANAGER
Every day is different for the Project Manager, this role is perfect for someone that enjoys variety and solving problems. This role will involve working on contracts, planning, price changes, creating schedules, and finding the missing pieces. This role is perfect for someone that has experience in Construction, Engineering, or Manufacturing.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
We need a detail-oriented and independent Project Manager to lead the planning, management direction, project completion, client satisfaction, and financial outcome of assigned projects for OTL. The primary responsibility is to manage the projects, as well as to provide support to the Vice President Project Management. The Project Manager is a full time; exempt position based in our Anaheim, California office and will report to the Vice President Operations.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications
- Confer with supervisors and foremen to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems
- Communicate with OTL’s clients as the primary relationship manager and to manage client expectations
- Monitor and control projects through administrative direction of on-site superintendents and foremen to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget
- Understand Safety Program provide assistance for the field & ensure adherence at project level
- Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs, and scheduling
- Production tracking of self-performed work, job cost analysis, and cost at completion calculations
- Development, management, and updating project schedule
- Issuing purchase orders and reviewing accounts payable invoices for correct pricing
- Management and tracking of subcontractors and vendors of fabricated items
- Preparation of project close out documents such as as-builts, O&M manuals & warranty documents
- Other tasks as assigned by the Vice President Project Management
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- 3 years of experience as a Project Manager
- Self-motivated individual, takes initiative, with good time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Bonus: 4-year degree in engineering or construction management plus prior experience in the construction industry
- Computer literate, technically competent, and fluent in English
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Familiarity with construction documents and the ability to read and interpret complex drawings
- Strong organizational skills are required as well as the ability to function well independently with limited supervision and also work well within a team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well with all levels of internal management, staff, clients, and vendors
