What are the responsibilities and job description for the Syspro Business Analyst position at OTR Engineered Solutions?
The Syspro Business Analyst who will interface with the business to assess and implement operational opportunities for the company's ERP system. Their main task is to evaluate, troubleshoot and resolve reported queries (“events”). The business analyst will be one of the primary contacts for Syspro and will work closely with the Global Director of Enterprise Applications to propose improvements to the Syspro business system, related business processes and report progress on various projects. The Syspro Business Analyst will be responsible for championing best practices and usage of Syspro.
Essential Functions:

- Manages and supports our ERP software – Syspro.
- Provides second level user support of Syspro and/or other integrated systems.
- Provides “ownership” of problem thru final resolution.
- Assists in identifying and quantifying project risks and opportunities.
- Develops and implements test plans, assuring quality in all project deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement in business processes and increase operational efficiencies.
- Analyze, implement, and support both new and existing system modules, integrations, and related business systems.
- Tests and applies patches/upgrades on a regular basis working closely with end users.
- Drives continuous improvement in IT processes and increases operational efficiencies.
- Works closely with project teams in gathering requirements, standing up and configuring the platform.
- Other duties can be assigned based on company needs and employee capabilities.

Required Skills / Abilities:
Experience using an ERP solution, preferably Syspro.
Experience with database query languages such as SQL.
Conversant with programming languages such as vb.net
Responsible for coaching and end user training.
Develop end user documentation and training material.
Create, implement, and ensure adherence to user permissions policy.
Act as the champion for the applicable system(s), ensuring that we are fully utilizing our assets and that we are following best practices.
Understanding of the software development lifecycle and methodologies.
Read and write in the English language.
Interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. At times, due to projects or work assignments, employee will need to coordinate and direct a team to meet/satisfy individual/company objectives.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. At times, employee might be exposed to manufacturing environment, including forklift traffic, fumes, noise, and operating manufacturing equipment.
Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM. To meet our customer demands and internal objectives, at times this role will be required to work outside of the normal schedule, including weekends.
Travel:
There may be occasional local day travel or overnight travel as it relates to training activities or support of assigned plants/locations.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in in Computer Science or IT related field, or equivalent work experience and/or education.
3 years’ experience with Syspro
Preferred Education and Experience:
Strong SQL skills (complex queries on relational databases, stored procedures, automation).
PowerBI, DAX basics and report design

Salary : $80,000 - $85,000
