Job Summary:
The Business & Development Manager will be responsible for expanding Otsuka Chemical America, Inc.’s customer base, identifying new business opportunities, and managing key customer relationships. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in sales and business development. The Business & Development Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive external sale and marketing plan that builds the Otsuka brand, drives referrals and increases revenue while gaining market share. Must live within a commutable distance from Novi, Michigan.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, self-disciplined and the ability to work independently
- Comfortable working within a multicultural business environment
- Must have reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license, and minimal traffic infractions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong ability to create presentations and reports
- Experience in using an ERP software system
- Chemical and/or automotive industry experience is preferred
- Travel Requirement: Approximately 30-50% (domestic and international)
- Must be able to attend periodic after hours web meetings or events
- Authorized to work in US without sponsorship
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, mechanical/chemical/industrial engineering or business administration
- Five years of related experience with progressive management and sales experience in the automotive or manufacturing industries.
