Description
Otterbein University is in search of an Assistant Registrar for Curriculum who will be responsible for managing and maintaining various aspects of the university curriculum, focusing on services that support students with the process of progressing in their degree programs and graduating. Position involves working with department chairs, faculty, academic advisors, students, technical contacts, and other interested parties. Functions as the primary contact for all aspects of Degree Works system, and graduation requirements and process. This is an exempt, full-time position working 40 hours per week, 12 months per year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manages all aspects of the degree completion verification and awarding process for students, including the handling and processing of graduation applications, communications, counseling, monitoring, and the development of innovative processes that unify and streamline the process for the entire campus community. Serves at events and activities related to graduation activities.
Encodes and maintains all degree audits and manages related processes such as substitution and waiver processing using Ellucian's Degree Works software. Coordinates these processes with university stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of information. Provides training, resources, and increases visibility and awareness of degree audit functionality across campus.
Coordinates routine maintenance of Degree Works software, including the troubleshooting and resolution of various system issues, implementing various system localizations utilizing CSS for visual and language design within the Degree Works product, planning and coordinating scheduled maintenance and upgrades with contacts within various technical teams.
Maintains inventory of supplies related to graduation activities, including the ordering, receiving, and inspection of materials from outside vendors utilized by the university. Maintains awareness of quality products, efficiency, potential cost savings, and innovations in the marketplace.
Works with department chairs, faculty, and staff in regards to degree requirements and the evolving nature of curricular requirements and the impact on students. Represents the Office of the Registrar on issues related to curriculum and development/implementation of policy. Serves on University committees.
Assists in other aspects of curriculum management as needed, including the design and development of various reports utilizing Argos or other available tools, coordination of the schedule of classes, and providing back-up assistance for the annual publishing and maintenance of the university's course catalog.
Develops and maintains documentation of all major processes related to role.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. Experience in higher education student services desired.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: N/A
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills including competency in verbal and written English grammar.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must be competent in general math.
TECHNICAL SKILLS: Must take pride in and be thorough in quality of work produced; must be able to use general office equipment including office PC with proficiency in a Windows-based environment (Word, Excel and Access preferred), copier, telephone, facsimile machine, etc. Experience with Banner student information system preferred. Must be exceptionally well-organized and able to multi-task efficiently.
REASONING ABILITY: Must possess excellent attention to details; must be self-motivated and a team player and interact collegially with students, faculty, parents, staff and administrators; must be able to exercise sound judgment in unusual/new situations. Must maintain confidentiality.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Must be able to meet regular and predictable attendance standards.
