DESCRIPTION
Otterbein University is looking for a Director of the Otterbein Simulation and Integration Center who will be under the general direction and supervision of the department chair. They will work in collaboration with nursing course faculty to support nursing student learning and the integration of psychomotor skills and critical thinking by directing the operations of the facilities and staff, and by supporting educational goals of the Otterbein Simulation & Integration Center, Department of Nursing, and Otterbein University by performing the duties described below.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs Operations of the Otterbein Simulation & Integration Center :
Collaborates and Communicates Proactively and Effectively to Achieve Learning Outcomes :
Plan OSIC calendars, simulations, and other evidence-based laboratory experiences.
Completes Professional Development and Maintains Credentials and Licenses :
Active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : OSIC staff, Adjunct Lab Instructors, and student workers.

LANGUAGE SKILLS : Must demonstrate competency in verbal and written English skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Must be competent in general math and dimensional analysis sufficient to calculate medication doses.
TECHNICAL SKILLS : Must have strong leadership skills and ability to lead a diverse group and interact professionally with students, faculty, and staff. Must possess management skills necessary for operations and budgeting. Must possess excellent organizational skills. Must possess knowledge of general office procedures, have a working knowledge of applicable safety practices and regulations.
Must be student centric. Must take pride in and be thorough in quality of work produced.
Must possess skills necessary for developing and providing appropriate learning experiences in assigned courses, including simulation design, production, and debriefing. Must possess skills necessary for developing and implementing appropriate evaluation tools for psychomotor nursing skills and associated clinical judgement. Must possess skills in identifying and assisting students with specific clinical skills deficits and be able to provide feedback, and to write and enforce student learning contracts.
Must have knowledge of educational technology software and hardware, particularly in nursing education and simulation, and be able to troubleshoot complex equipment and interface with external support resources. Must be able to use standard office productivity software and cloud-based educational software, network-connected office computer and cloud-based computing, and standard office equipment such as a multifunction device (copier, scanner, facsimile) and telephone.
REASONING ABILITY : Must comfortable communicating across all levels of the organization. Must be able to anticipate problems and develop candidate solutions. Must have strong interpersonal skills and positive managerial skills. Must possess excellent attention to details. Must be able to spend prolonged periods of time walking and observing students, and intermittent periods working on an office computer and with health-care equipment (e.g., hospital beds, medication pumps, simulated hi- mid- and low-fidelity robotic patients). Must be able to reach, lift 75 pounds, and travel to and throughout clinical settings and offices on campus. Must be able to hear and make self heard by co-workers and other constituencies. Must be able to see to process work that the position is responsible for completing. Must be able to work under short deadlines and with constant interruptions. Must be able to meet regular and predictable attendance standards.
