We have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team.
JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring staff, administering pay and benefits, while also enforcing all company policies and practices. This role will help keep our plant running at optimum performance by ensuring all of our employees are engaged, informed, and excited to be on the team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under the direction of the General Manager, the HR Generalist will lead the onsite Human Resources department functions and activities for our plant located in Muskegon, Michigan.
- The HR Generalist will lead the functions for of recruiting, hiring, onboarding, employee/labor relations, compensation, benefits, training, equal employment opportunity, and employee records.
- Processes HR department applications, including employment and enrollment applications; maintains attendance and employment records, and compiles statistics for various HR management reports.
- This role will be the first point of contact for all employees to assist with employee relations, while also working with the management team to ensure employees are promptly assisted and have appropriate resolutions.
- Provide coaching, direction, guidance, and support to employees as needed.
- Work with management regarding employee counseling, disciplinary actions, and terminations; ensuring all actions are within company guidelines, policies, and procedures, and legal compliance.
- Maintain the proper documentation and record retention as necessary for personnel and other employment/benefit records.
- Lead and/or assist in all company activities to ensure positive employee morale and overall employment satisfaction.
- Assist in driving all company communications, directives, initiatives, programs and policies for this location.
- Other duties and projects as assigned by the General Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR or Business preferred. (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- At least 4 years or more experience in Human Resources; with at least 1 year or more experience in HR and staffing for industrial manufacturing facilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Proficiency in utilizing an HRIS systems and Applicant Tracking Systems.
- HR Assistant, Coordinator or Generalist experience required.
