Position Details

  • Peer Support Specialist
  • Malvern AR
  • Full-Time Nonexempt
  • Requires Peer Support Specialist certification or documentation of Peer Support Specialist course enrollment

Position Summary

  • Provide Substance Abuse Recovery Services to include relapse prevention.
  • Monitor and communicate behavioral, mental, and emotional state of clients to primary therapist and other treatment team members.
  • Assist and support beneficiaries in identifying goals.
  • Assist beneficiaries in acquiring skills needed to support an independent lifestyle and promote an improved sense of self-worth.
  • Educate and assist clients with accessing supports, resources, and services needed to promote and maintain recovery.
  • Follow up with clients who miss or cancel appointments.
  • Monitor and maintain client cases in an electronic documentation system.
  • Attend required training.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid are required and provided by the organization.
  • Verbal de-escalation training is required and is provided by the organization.
