Job Overview:
The Construction Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of physical tasks on construction sites to assist with building and infrastructure projects. This includes site preparation, maintenance, material handling, and working under the direction of supervisors or skilled tradespeople.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Load and unload construction materials and equipment
- Prepare and clean construction sites by removing debris and hazards
- Perform manual labor as required
- Assist technical staff as required
- Operate basic hand and power tools as required
- Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Set up and take down temporary structures and barricades
- Perform other general labor duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to lift 45 lbs and work in demanding conditions
- Basic understanding of construction procedures and safety practices
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions effectively
Physical Demands:
This position requires work both indoors and outdoors, including the ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry up to 45 lbs. Employees must be able to work effectively and safely in inclement weather conditions, including high winds, rain, and snow. Most of the fieldwork will occur between April – November. The position may require travel in helicopter, aircraft, ATVs, and watercraft for short periods of time.
Position requirements (to be completed after hire):
· Pre-employment drug & alcohol screening and/or random drug screen
· Pre-employment criminal background history check
· Must have or be willing to obtain 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification
· HAZWOPER physical and respirator fit test
