Overview: Our community healthcare systems are seeking a passionate and dedicated Community Engagement Specialist to join our team. This position will play a key role in fostering relationships with local communities, enhancing public understanding of healthcare services, and ensuring access to vital health resources. The ideal candidate will be an advocate for community health, with excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of healthcare systems and community needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Outreach: Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, and local groups to identify and address healthcare needs and concerns.
- Program Development: Collaborate with internal teams to create, implement, and evaluate community health programs, workshops, and educational campaigns that promote wellness and access to care.
- Advocacy & Public Relations: Represent the healthcare system at community events, health fairs, and public forums to advocate for health initiatives and programs.
- Data Collection & Reporting: Gather and analyze feedback from the community to assess needs, trends, and effectiveness of health programs. Prepare reports and presentations for leadership.
- Resource Distribution: Ensure community members are informed about available healthcare services, insurance options, and preventive health measures.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with healthcare providers, local governments, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders to strengthen community partnerships and resources.
- Social Media & Communication: Create and maintain content for social media platforms, newsletters, and other communication channels to keep the community informed about healthcare initiatives and services.
- Cultural Competence: Provide culturally sensitive support and communication to diverse community groups, ensuring healthcare information is accessible to all populations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Communication, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in community engagement, public health, or a related field. Experience in healthcare or nonprofit sectors is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse populations.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in social media platforms and digital communication tools.
- Knowledge of public health issues and healthcare resources.
- Fluency in [insert relevant languages] is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
