What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Coordinator position at our company?
The logistics coordinator will be responsible for arranging transportation and logistics for all necessary inbound and outbound shipments. The logistics coordinator is also responsible for providing carriers with necessary information, negotiating courier fees on behalf of clients, and tracking shipments. To be successful as a shipping coordinator you must have excellent attention to detail. A great shipping coordinator can successfully multitask on a daily basis.
This is a hybrid position in Greenville, SC. You must be located in the Greenville, SC area. This position is NOT remote.

While no day will be completely the same, you will execute daily responsibilities in these various functions:
- Determine which domestic and international carriers used for each inbound and outbound shipment
- Set up shipments for internal orders
- Communicate with clients and shippers and resolve any complaints
- Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming and outgoing truck traffic
- Utilize proprietary software to record incoming and outgoing trucks
- Maintain records of shipment tracking and BOL’s or POD’s
- Manage relationships with freight carriers ensuring continuous improvements are being made
- Review performance of freight carriers
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all freight escalation issues
- Communicates with production teams to determine order readiness, trailer needs, etc
- Inform carriers of shipment issues and follows up through corrective action or claim filing
- Create shipping metrics
- Negotiate shipping fees with couriers
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Expert technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and assist and train others

- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Extremely proficient with Google Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software
- Ability to work independently
Education & Experience
- High school diploma and minimum 1 years relevant experience required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
