Responsible for assuring product quality by conducting line audits and inspections, product, and ingredient sampling, and finished product scoring. Verifies adherence to formulas and procedures, monitors and verifies process controls, sanitation and GMP practices.
Key Tasks & Duties
· Performs pre-operational inspections when required.
· Coordinates HACCP activities on a shift basis.
· Conducts daily audits and brings about corrective action if needed.
· Routinely conducts statistical weight studies to ensure component weight standards are met.
· Performs equipment calibrations as specified in procedures.
· Inspects incoming ingredients as needed and verifies COA results to specification.
· Assures work in progress is held using proper procedures. Isolate and places “Hold” on any material, product, ingredient, or packaging material that could pose a food safety issue or compromise quality.
· Actively participates in resolution of Quality and Food Safety issues.
· Performs in-process and finished product analytical testing.
· Complies with Heartland Harvest policies, procedures, and practices. Follows Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF Standards, food safety and safety practices.
· Manages electronic and paper files.
· Other responsibilities as assigned.
· Minimum Associates Degree in related field or 2-5 years relevant experience.
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills
