Our Home is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Warehouse Lead to join our team. As a Warehouse Lead, you will be responsible for providing timely support to the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure optimal flow of operations. Under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Lead will also work with management and fellow associates to ensure Food Safety programs are followed, reports food, office or operational safety problems to a supervisor or manager for initiating action, and perform other duties as assigned that will impact and support the overall outcome of the company and department objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Checks and assures trailer number assignments and door assignments to affect proper deliveries.
- Assists the loaders in their daily functions to assure the optimum shift efficiencies.
- Investigates, documents and reports all necessary shift incident reports.
- Confirms finished orders on the computer and assures accuracy of shipments.
- Monitors and helps to maintain the daily shortages on trailers.
- Communicates with the appropriate production facilities to assure that product shortages have been obtained and stock-outs are kept to a minimum.
- Trains and instructs associates on operation, procedures and other warehouse responsibilities.
- Initiates process improvement and provides advice and recommendations to supervisor upon request.
- Must be flexible to cover other shifts in an event of vacation or call out of supervision.
- Spends majority of time on the floor working with and monitoring assigned staff.
- Loads trailers with finished product for distributors and distribution centers; accuracy is critical.
- Reads load sheets to determine quantity of each skid that needs loaded and to where.
- Unloads product and scans into inventory putting product in proper place.
- Performs physical inventories as requested.
- Readily takes instruction from the supervisor and is eager to improve work activities and knowledge base.
- Routinely fills in for subordinate staff in order to meet production schedule and complete needed work assignments.
- Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
- Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.
- Performs a daily morning inventory
- Knowledge of loading and shipping operations required in order to properly plan and execute a daily shipping schedule.
- The ability to jockey trailers on premises is a plus.
- Exhibits supervisory skills necessary to lead others, coordinate flow and meet deadlines.
- Requires reading and math skills and computer literacy.
- Must have the ability to obtain and retain a forklift license.
