Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Floater to join our dynamic team in a nurturing and engaging environment. The Preschool Floater will provide essential support across various classrooms, ensuring a safe and stimulating atmosphere for children. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and eager to contribute to the development of young learners. This is a part time position for an individual with the ability to work a variety of hours. There WILL NOT be a set schedule. We do promote from within, so full time hours / lead teaching position may be available in the future.
Duties
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Support classroom management by helping maintain a clean and organized learning environment.
- Provide individualized attention to children, particularly those who may need additional support in areas such as toddler care..
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to create a welcoming community within the school.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in childhood development and tutoring.
- Must be able to lift children, as diapering is required.
- May also work in kitchen are preparing meals.
- Assist covering classrooms during staff shortages (sick calls, days off)
- Clean up common areas and carpets
- Prep afternoon snack
- Clean kitchen after food prep
- Assist with staff breaks
- Keep children clean, fed and freshly diapered.
Qualifications
- Experience in a classroom setting, preferably within a private school or preschool environment.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with educators and families.
- A passion for working with young children and supporting their growth through engaging activities.
- Previous experience in lesson planning or curriculum development is advantageous.
- Certification in childcare or related fields is preferred but not required.
- 45 Hours of Certification from DCF (can assist with completing, must be complete within 6 months)
- Must pass a level 2 background check prior to employment (we do not pay for this)
- Enthusiastic and encouraging
- Ability to stand and move around for long hours at a time while working
- Pediatric CPR/First Aid (can assist with completion)
- Fire Extinguisher Training (can assist with completion)
- Infant Safe Sleep Practices (can assist with completion)
- Must have reliable transportation!
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
