Summary: The Director – develops, coordinates, implements and evaluates Youth Development Services team’s strategic programs initiatives. This position will direct and grow Leadership, Life skills and soft employability skills as well as other related programs and services that facilitate and provide authentic Youth development opportunities for young adults. The Director will also work with internal and external partners to ensure that all efforts fully support OPP's mission and bolsters stakeholders’ relationships and opportunities that will position OPP’s members as marketable and contributing members of their communities. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Develops Innovative and authentic youth development initiatives and resources that promotes and ensures an integrated approach to career readiness activities towards OPP’s members preparedness in today’s growing economy 

· Develops new initiatives and ensures an integrated approach to career readiness activities, including workforce initiatives, promotion and communication to internal constituencies, staff, participants, and students

· Develops and oversees professional contacts and affiliations with city and statewide stakeholders and related resources to create opportunities for youth 

· Collaborates with the COO in identifying and securing community partnerships, venues, speakers that facilitate/validate program themes/content to program participants 

· Maintains a dynamic image of the team by leading effective and timely communications, that promotes and creates opportunities for OPP’s Youth Development programming 

· Prepares budgetary recommendations and monitors, verifies and reconciles expenditure of budgeted funds for development services

· Collaborates with multiple departments to promote programmatic opportunities, events and provide optimal program exposure,

· Works with External Affairs team to develop marketing strategies, including implementation and use of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube

· Oversees and ensures that the website content of services offered is written and presented in a format that meets web usability standards and is consistent with programmatic design guidelines and brand image

· Ensures compliance with key stakeholder’s contractual deliverables and submits reports in a timely manner.

· Demonstrate a commitment to empowering and supporting team members in their professional growth.

· Lead by example, uphold ethical standards, and cultivate a culture of trust and respect.

· Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations in people management to enhance team effectiveness.

· Embrace diversity and inclusion, and leverage differences to drive creativity and collaboration.

Requirements

  

· Master’s degree in a related field of study such as Human Services, Youth Development and/or Workforce Development and three (3) years of directly related experience; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field of study and seven (7) years of directly related experience and largescale project management and public relations.

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

· Knowledge of Microsoft office software and specific computer programs related to area of responsibility

· Possess excellent large-scale event management skills, strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines

· Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals

· Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written)

· Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise, including social media, and other areas that prove relevant to OPP’s mission

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community

· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret economic data

· Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with staff and OPP members.

Salary : $72,000 - $75,000
