What are the responsibilities and job description for the SERVICE LEARNING PROGRAM INTERN position at Our Piece of the Pie?
Description
The intern will work with Our Piece of the Pie (OPP) for 10 months to help coordinate service-learning projects that engage youth in community-based initiatives, enhancing their experiences while fostering a positive impact on both the community and the environment. The intern will collaborate closely with the Hartford Youth Service Corps (HYSC) team, Youth Leadership Council, Organizational Capacity, and COO on internal efforts to drive program enhancement and innovation, promote youth voice and engagement, and strengthen community outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
· Research and identify meaningful community service opportunities that connect youth with service-learning projects.
· Conduct outreach to non-profits, community-based organizations, churches, small businesses, corporations, and employers to build a diversified portfolio network that enhances service-learning initiatives.
· Engage partners to build awareness and commitment for becoming a HYSC host site for one year, ensuring that both youth and the community benefit from the partnership.
· Organize logistics for service-learning projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and volunteer coordination to facilitate smooth execution.
· Develop and distribute project materials and communications to ensure clarity and foster engagement among all stakeholders (youth, staff, community partners, and funders).
· Maintain project timelines and execute assigned activities, ensuring successful implementation and completion of each initiative.
Requirements

· Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
· Previous experience in project coordination or community service is a plus.
· Education: High School/GED required; some College preferred
