Energetic Early Childhood Educator Needed for Faith Based Preschool Program
We are currently looking for a qualified teacher for the 2025-2026 school year, to work in a classroom setting and help our Preschool grow and build a reputation in the community. Our program is split , K3 and K4, on different days of the week. This position is for our K3 program on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The successful candidate will provide a safe, high quality learning environment that promotes developmentally appropriate activities which encourage physical, emotional, spiritual and cognitive growth for each child. The successful candidate will be proficient at supervising children during class and play time, plan and carry out daily lessons to include physical, mental and social growth activities. Communication with parents about classroom curriculum and events, and the growth and development of their children will be provided by the teacher through verbal and written communication, monthly calendars, weekly newsletters and scheduled conferences.
Job Responsibilities:
- Partner with parents with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children
- Cultivate positive relationships with families, teaching assistant, and other church staff
- Assist with growing our presence in the community, leading to the growth of new families and children in our program
- Responsible for running the program on a daily basis
- Develop Christ centered lesson plans using the Illinois Early Learning and Development standards, in conjunction with the Concordia Curriculum for guidance
Must Haves:
- Be a committed Christian
- Have a clear understanding of child development
- Have a strong desire to work with young children
- Be willing to continue professional development training in the field of Early Childhood Ed.
- Have a calm / patient demeanor
- Relate positively with young children in a mature and responsible fashion
- Maintain a professional personal appearance
Requirements/Qualifications:
Candidates must pass required state and federal background checks
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or similar disciplines; or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or be a current student in the degree field of Early Childhood
- Minimum 2 years of childcare/teaching experience required
- CPR/First Aid Certified
- Ability to build relationships with families and staff and create a dynamic environment where play and discovery go hand-in-hand
- Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively
- Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $640.00 - $660.00 per month
