About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the overall success of Ouro.
Responsibilities
- Monthly Close and Financial Reporting:
- Lead the capital assets monthly close activities and periodic capitalization reporting deliverables.
- Prepare month-end journal entries and adjustments with appropriate support documentation.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Ability to identify irregularities and properly accrue or adjust.
- Audit and Compliance:
- Analyze accounting data in the accounting system to determine if transactions should be recorded as a capital asset on the general ledger and to review and highlight variances, trends, exceptions and discrepancies, taking action as appropriate.
- Prepare month-end capital asset reconciliations between capital assets and General Ledger.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and year end audit support.
- Interface with external auditors to manage year-end request
- Process Improvement:
- Document all month-end close procedures.
- Help identify ongoing process improvements/creation of efficiencies in the current accounting processes.
- Communication:
- Work closely with the FP&A group to ensure accurate reporting
- Perform ad-hoc management-related requests and analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in accounting.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability and eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic industry.
- Ability to train staff and explain processes.
