Job Description
Out of the Woods Cabinetry is seeking a Cabinet Installer Helper to join our team. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals with little to no experience who are eager to learn the trade. The Cabinet Installer Helper will work closely with skilled Cabinet Installers, supporting them at job sites and learning the essential skills needed to become a Cabinet Installer within 6 to 9 months. This is a hands-on role in a construction environment, providing a valuable opportunity to build a long-term career in cabinetry installation.
What You Will Do:
- Assist Cabinet Installers with measuring and preparing installation areas
- Help transport and position cabinets at job sites
- Support Cabinet Installers by holding materials, passing tools, and assisting with assembly
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints and installation instructions
- Operate hand and power tools safely under supervision
- Communicate professionally with contractors, tradespeople, and homeowners
- Remove existing cabinetry during remodels as needed
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment, reporting any issues or safety concerns
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
- Complete additional tasks as assigned to support project completion
What You Will Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic math skills and ability to use a measuring tape
- Experience with hand and power tools is preferred
- Strong willingness to learn and work closely with skilled Cabinet Installers
- Ability to work independently once trained
- Professional demeanor and ability to communicate with contractors, homeowners, and other tradesman
- Dependable with strong attention to detail and accountability
- Fluency in English; Spanish language skills are a plus
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
What You Will Experience:
- Daily travel to job sites and work in a cabinet shop or warehouse
- Regular lifting of at least 50 pounds
- Working with hand and around power tools, heavy machinery
- Regularly reading labels, signs, measuring devices, and computers
- Standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time
- Bending, stooping, crouching on a regular basis
- Exposure to noise and dust on worksites and in the shop/warehouse
- Regular use of PPE, including closed-toe shoes, eye and ear protection, etc
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling equipment and products
