What are the responsibilities and job description for the Conservation Agronomist Intern (Summer 2025) position at Outagamie County?
The Outagamie County Land Conservation Department is seeking an Intern to assist with soil and water conservation projects. This position is a temporary full time position. This position will report directly to the County Conservationist.

This role is located at Land Conservation on Brewster Street in Appleton, Wisconsin
Hours: Monday-Friday (Daytime hours)
- Provide assistance to agronomy staff with implementing soil health grants.
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and data collection of Soil Health demonstration plots.
- Assist with mapping of Nutrient Management Plans.
- Assist with general maintenance and operation of Departmental farm machinery.
- Other support duties as assigned.
- Candidate should be enrolled in a degree program related to agriculture and/or natural resources. Agronomy or soils coursework preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience maintaining/operating farm machinery.
- Experience operating pickup trucks and trailers.
- UTV/ATV certification.
- Ability to work independently and maintain regular attendance.
