Serving as a functional member of the household team under general supervision of Life Enrichment Manager, the Lead Life Enrichment Specialist functions as a team lead within the department, plans, implements and reviews villagers' social care plan approaches, and completes routine and recurring training and program evaluation. Additionally may function as a Life Enrichment Specialist based upon departmental needs.The hours for this position are typically: 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday. Weekends are typically off along with Holidays.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The following duties are most critical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.Trains and mentors Life Enrichment Specialists in planning, conducting and evaluating activity programming in accordance with CMS requirements as well as maintaining cleanliness standards in the households. Maintains direct contact with external entertainment groups.Coordinates and train volunteersAssists with maintaining the Brewster Village Cafe which includes shopping and training volunteersCreates, schedules and promotes optimal involvement of participants in life enrichment events based on villager choice. Adapts life enrichment opportunities based on the life interests of each villager. Coordinates Virtual Dementia tour for new hire orientation groups.Interviews villagers and families to create a comprehensive social history that is reviewed and shared with the team on an ongoing basis. Maintains a safe, comfortable and functional environment by assessing the household for potential hazards, implements practices utilizing appropriate techniques regarding sanitation, infection control, fire safety, disaster preparedness and emergency care, investigates and reports all incidents and accidents, and observes the team for safe work habits. Reviews and documents on each villager's involvement in life enrichment and addresses their overall care plan needs as identified by the villager. Assists with community outings by transporting villagers in the facility vehicle and assists with large in-facility life enrichment events. Plans large in-facility Life Enrichment events.Maintains condition of villagers room and household common areas by cleaning and disinfecting furniture, emptying wastebaskets, vacuuming floors, dusting, completing deep cleans, mopping floors, carpet cleaning and sanitizing the bathroom. Keep the household clean and free from odors, accumulations of dirt, dust, rubbish, and safety hazards per State and Federal requirements. Attends and participates in household meetings, huddles, educational in-services, and other meetings as it applies to the position.
