Description

This position supports the efficient production of product to an acceptable quality standard in the allowed time.  This position must understand the current methods and be able to bring in new equipment and processes to improve production performance.  Time studies and metrics are a key tool.  The focus of this position will be to benchmark standard times and work to improve production efficiency. If necessary the roll will work with the planning team to add and control new production facilities to meet demand.

Essential Functions

• Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods that are applied and activities that take place in manufacturing and services.
• Work with product engineering, quality and production to figure out how to manufacture parts or products, or deliver services, with maximum efficiency
• Develop management control systems to make financial planning and cost analysis more efficient
• Enact quality control procedures to resolve production problems or minimize costs
• Design control systems to coordinate activities and production planning in order to ensure that products meet quality standards
• Confer with engineering about product specifications, vendors about purchases, management personnel about manufacturing capabilities, and staff about the status of projects
• Setting up and moving equipment within the manufacturing plant(s)
• Assist in pre-production planning, including finding the most profitable places to locate manufacturing or processing plants
• Owning the performance metrics
• Assist other departments with tasks when needed

• Understand CSI production equipment, standards, procedures and core competencies

• Establish and manage work flow – lean principles
• Work with engineering to build product to specified quality within the allowed time.
• Ability to work overtime as business needs dictate.
• Ability to travel as necessary.

Qualifications

Education & Qualifications

• BS in Industrial Engineering
• 3D CAD ability (SolidWorks)
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Understand functional interrelationships.
• Applied Lean manufacturing knowledge.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Must be able to handle multiple task
