The Packaging Technician/Cellar support position is Full-Time and will report directly to the Packaging Manager and Lead Brewer. The primary responsibilities will be the daily packaging operations of filling beer into bottles, cans, and kegs. Operations of the CODI canning line as well as the cleaning and sanitization of packaging areas and other machinery. Secondary responsibilities would include being a Cellarman. This would include CIP and sanitizing fermentation and conditioning tanks, operating a centrifuge, transferring final beer product in a sanitized manner to the serving tanks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Packaging Tech Duties and Responsibilities (Primary):
- Operate canning line as per SOPs provided:
- CIP and Sanitizing can filler
- Canning line Maintenance
- Normal canning procedures to ensure highest quality fills, straight labels, clean cans, etc. resulting in superior finished product.
- Replace labels when they run out
- Correct can and lid jams
- Stack and wrap cases and kegs of beer onto a pallet and moved into cold storage for distribution/taproom
- Assist in loading and unloading beer and other items on and off semi trucks regularly using the on-site forklift
- Operate a forklift/electric pallet jack safely to load and unload trucks.
- Load/unload and help maintain an organized cold storage room
- Quality Checks
- Checking carbonation and DO levels in the Brite tank before packaging
- Ensure packaged beer are not “low fills”

Ensure seams of cans are not leaking
- Use standard practices to regularly check seam measurements and make necessary adjustments
Labels are straight with no air bubbles
Ability to troubleshoot issues with the labeling device
- Kegs
- CIP and Sanitize keg filling station
- Fill Kegs according to daily requirements

Wash and clean kegs shells
- Troubleshoot issues with the keg washer and replace detergent and sanitizer chemicals on the machine at the right time
Cellar Duties and Responsibilities (Secondary):
- Check with the Lead Brewer or Cellar Manager and the daily to-do Cellar list
- CIP and Sanitize fermentation vessels and brite tanks as written out in provided SOPs.
- CIP,Sanitize, and operate centrifuge in accordance with the SOP and recipe specifications.

Perform Quality
- Cellar operators MUST use Cbox to check DO levels of the brite tank prior to the transfer.
- Cellar operators MUST use Cbox to check carbonation levels pre and post transfer.

Maintain a clean cellar.
- This includes tri-clamps, gaskets, hoses must be cleaned and put away
- Fermenters, Brites, and Floors will be cleaned on a regular basis
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
(who/which departments are you speaking with on a regular basis and to what extent)
This person must frequently be in contact with the Packaging Manager and Lead Brewer, and assist him in any way necessary to make sure the canning run goes as smoothly as possible. He/she MUST check in with the Packaging Manager and then the Lead Brewer at the end of every day to receive confirmation that the day’s work is finished and everything has been completed as necessary and to a high standard.
Packaging Manager (1st communication)
- Communication with the Packaging Manager and Lead Brewer regarding any issues or concerns that may arise during the daily workflow
Cellar Manager/Lead Brewer (2nd communication)
- Cellarman must communicate with the cellar manager or Lead Brewer about daily responsibilities and task prioritization when employee is working the cellar.
- If there are any issues with the centrifuge, pumps, tanks, C02 lines, air lines, etc. these must be communicated to the cellar manager/Lead Brewer immediately, so a plan can be made to make the repair. Communication about chemicals in stock is necessary so that we do not run out of important cleaning chemicals.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
This is a physically strenuous role. Must be comfortable working long hours on foot and able to lift up to 50 lbs alone and 160 lbs with help.

MOBILITY / FLEXIBILITY
Your normal place of work will be 182 Lusher Ct. Frisco Colorado 80443, but as a term of your employment you may be required to work from any of the organization's establishments depending on where events take place. Outer Range Brewing Co. has company cars and transportation will always be available to the team for events when necessary.
