Job Purpose

This role is responsible for ensuring that every guest enjoys an exceptional visit while maintaining the highest standards in beer quality, service, and taproom operations
Requirements
3-5 years Managerial Experience
5-10 years experience in the Craft Beer space
Your Direct Team
The Taproom Manager reports directly to the Brand Manager. The taproom team directly reports to the Taproom hospitality manager - this includes the Taproom Leads and Bartenders
Duties and Responsibilities
- Cultivate a High-Performing Team – Implement structured communication and development practices, including regular check-ins and training, ensure staff are engaged, well-informed, and equipped to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
- Optimize Taproom Operations – Establish and uphold clear standards for scheduling, service, cleanliness, and maintenance, ensuring efficiency while maintaining the highest level of hospitality.
- Maintain Taproom Aesthetic & Functionality – Ensure all taproom spaces reflect Outer Range’s brand identity through intentional design, upkeep of furniture plus equipment with a high standard of cleanliness and organization. Oversee all related building maintenance, including taproom equipment, draft systems, furniture to ensure a safe, functional, and visually appealing space.
- Ensure Beer Quality & Presentation – Develop and enforce protocols for draft system maintenance, beer handling, and service to consistently troubleshoot and deliver beer at peak quality.
- Drive Taproom Success – Utilize systems for tracking and improving revenue, guest satisfaction, and staff engagement. Monitor and analyze financial and operational data—including labor efficiency, product sales performance, and cost management to ensure the taproom meets revenue and profitability goals.
- Drive Product Sales Success – Maintain a proactive approach to beer inventory and merchandise strategy to maximize sales. Ensure taproom staff is knowledgeable about beer offerings, upcoming releases, and limited drops, while also optimizing merch displays, stock levels to enhance the guest experience.
- Strengthen Brand & Community Engagement – Work collaboratively with internal teams (Marketing, Sales, Events) to align taproom operations with Outer Range’s vision, ensuring seamless execution of events, promotions, beer and merchandise releases.
- Lead by Example – Set the tone for a culture of excellence, teamwork, and hospitality, balancing leadership with approachability to inspire and motivate the team.
Measuring Success
- Consistently meet taproom revenue and financial performance.
- Maintain positive guest feedback and high review ratings (Google, Secret Shopper, ect)
- Maintain and positive taproom employee feedback
- Promote a well-trained, engaged, and growth motivated taproom team.
- Alignment with company-wide standards and KPIs.
Communication Skills
Must have excellent communication skills. You are working directly with the entire taproom team and you also work alongside production in the same building. Being able to communicate effectively, efficiently, and clearly.
