JOB SUMMARY:
The core mission of the Facilities Technician role is to ensure the overall upkeep and maintenance of the company’s facilities, grounds, equipment, and machinery at Outreach, Inc. This individual works as a key member of the Facilities team and provides all areas of the organization with efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective facilities customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Responsible for the general maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep of the overall facility.
- Respond to Helpdesk requests in a timely manner. Update supervisor regularly and provide a monthly summary of requests and actions.
- Ensure the facility is clean and orderly at all times.
- Ensure that all areas are free from safety or fire hazards and that all equipment, supplies, and materials are in proper storage areas.
- Maintain proper cleaning schedule and ensure a complete cleaning cycle is adhered to with the overall facility as well as carpets, windows, cubicles, etc.
- Perform daily walk-through of the facility and ensure that all areas are free from clutter and debris.
- Oversee janitorial-related inventory supplies.
- Update the supervisor regularly with any concerns or facility issues.
- Track facility maintenance costs and continually look for ways to reduce costs and/or improve levels of service.
- Ensure that all machinery is clean and in good working condition.
- Ensure that all mechanical and electrical areas are free from safety or fire hazards and that all materials are in proper storage areas.
- Create and follow a clear preventive maintenance schedule to keep all equipment in good working condition.
- Develops, implements, and reviews maintenance logs for equipment.
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide electrical and mechanical assistance in regard to office expansion and relocation.
- Ensure that nametags are created, placed, and updated outside of each cubicle and/or office in conjunction with Design Services.
- Assist with company meetings, special events, general set-up, and teardown as needed.
- Responsible for other duties as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Supports company culture by a commitment to the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Outreach, Inc.
- Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of the following: hand tools (hammer, grips, saws, sledgehammer, etc.), power tools (wrenches, grinders, sanders, drills, saws, etc.), user-moved aids (Dollies, hand trucks, ladders, etc.), and mechanical equipment (motors, pumps, blowers, etc.).
- Ability to drive (or learn to drive) forklifts. (Training provided)
- Have a clean DMV driving record for the past five years.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Gmail).
- Basic math and computation skills.
- Possess skills such as problem-solving, organizing, planning, listening skills, and follow-through. The ability to be flexible and agile; ability to juggle multiple tasks, is a priority.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience in a maintenance, facilities environment.
- Preference for candidates with technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in any of the following: Minor Electrical, mechanical, process controls, painting, plumbing, or carpentry.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Dexterity and visual acuity to perform necessary maintenance functions and to operate machinery.
- Capability to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- Intermittent sitting, standing and walking.
- Lively, interactive working environment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and shop environments and is frequently exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
