A growing construction company has a full-time position available for an Project Engineer / Estimator to get bids from subcontractors and vendors using company technology and on-line bid platform. You will contact trades, vendors etc. and work up scopes of work and enter information into project software system. You will manage an online bid platform.
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Project Engineer / Estimator works closely with the Project Management / Estimating team to ensure success as it relates to all estimating assignments associated with vendor RFQ (Request for Quote) responses and estimating. This person will assist senior estimators / PMs in obtaining the necessary information in order to generate and send quotes to customers in a timely fashion.
Essential Functions :
- Prepare quotes by gathering necessary information from senior estimator(s) / PMs.
- Prepare RFQ package to be estimated by gathering related specifications from customer and related documents.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Draft and email clear quotes including accurate details needed to receive pricing from capable suppliers.
- Effectively communicate with suppliers, customers, and co-workers to obtain information necessary to complete pre-quoting tasks both via e-mail and / or over the phone. Maintain communication on status of all quotes.
- Identify material and time requirements by communicating with estimating team and customer.
- Send completed quotations via email to customers by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Maintain RFQ files by converting, organizing, and saving information according to company’s electronic system.
- Knowledge of Company’s capacity, capabilities, possibilities and / or limitations of our processes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends / technology of the industry.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results while maintaining a positive and professional company image.

Various construction projects using a variety of construction systems, in different environments and regional area. Work will consist of, but not be limited to general and specialized construction including new construction, interior / exterior renovations / rehabilitations, tenant improvements and system upgrades.

Physical Demands :
