Job Description:
We are seeking a FT experienced Bookkeeper with a strong background in contractor accounting and job costing to join our team. This role requires precision, organization, and a thorough understanding of financial processes related to the construction or contracting industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable/receivable, and ensuring proper job cost allocation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and invoicing.
- Maintain job costing records, tracking expenses and revenue for individual projects.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, such as profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filings.
- Communicate with contractors, vendors, and clients regarding financial matters.
- Assist with payroll processing, as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in the construction or contracting industry.
- Strong knowledge of job costing and project-based accounting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online required.
- Familiarity with WIP reporting, and progress-invoicing are very helpful.
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting procedures for contractors.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
