Job Summary
Primary care clinic is seeking for a licensed and experienced Medical Assistant/Front Desk personnel. Individual is responsible for managing both administrative duties and interacting with patients. Will be trained to enter data into the EHR system, but must be experienced in collecting labs (blood draws, etc.), verifying insurance information and patient eligibility, processing payments, filing and organizing patient records, managing office supplies, scheduling appointments for patients, answering phone, addressing patient inquiries, check-in/check-out patients, and support medical staff.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform routine clinical tasks, such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and documenting medical histories.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and ensure proper documentation.
- Knowledge of 12-lead EKG.
- Must be great with blood draws (lab collection).
- Coordinate patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency and enhance patient service.
- Maintain accurate patient records in electronic health systems.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Support the healthcare team in various administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
- High school graduate
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of outpatient care practices, particularly in internal medicine and dermatology.
- Familiarity with doctors' office settings.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is a must.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient care tasks.
