Job Description
We are seeking to hire a new salesperson to join our team. At present, we have a team of five servicing our territories and customers - but this hire is to join our New York office with a focus on foodservice accounts in the NY Metro area.
Growing into a full sales role at our company will involve hosting tastings for key accounts at our main tasting room, focused work with product in the field, and carefully planned and executed sample boxes from headquarters delivered on the orders. Most importantly, it involves overseeing the weekly management of orders for assigned customer accounts. Additionally, the work involves managing the calendar for many overwhelmed buyers to help them track various preorders and air shipments.
We have trained and are willing to train again for this position - the most essential aspect here is a truly passionate monger who thirsts to learn more and loves talking with other mongers about the business of cheese. Our ideal candidate has a strong knowledge base, good experience buying, and running a counter, with buying experience being the most important.
The ideal candidate also has excellent organizational skills and a genuine comfort and accuracy working with numbers. Our industry is one in which suppliers like us are expected to get the paperwork and orders correct - precision with the details is what our customers want from us.
Compensation
This position is salaried, with a range of $75k-$100k. Compensation involves a base salary as well as commission on both existing and new accounts management. Plus, the company provides annual bonuses based on performance.
