Finance Specialist
Finance Specialist Job Responsibilities:
- Willingness to streamline current processes and automate where possible.
- Prepare monthly financial statements.
- Generate and review monthly reports.
- Assist with preparation for annual audits.
- Prepare and distribute annual IRS forms.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices.
- Analyze financial data to identify our company’s financial status
- Conduct cost and benchmarking analyses
- Prepare budget reports
- Develop financial models, taking legal limitations into consideration
- Participate in regular audits and recommend corrective financial action plans
- Design and review fiscal policies
- Identify investment opportunities
- Advise our senior management team on financial planning (e.g. acquisitions, mergers and loans)
- Create forecast models based on current and past financial results
- Work closely with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other members of the accounting team.
Accounting Specialist Qualifications/Skills:
- Proven work experience as a Financial Specialist, Financial Analyst or relevant role
- Familiarity with finance and statistical analysis software
- Understanding of financial and accounting principles
- An ability to analyze market trends and provide data-based advice
- Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail
- An ability to present and explain investment information and financial plans
- Familiarity with Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering financial data
- Outstanding math and research skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency with 10-key typing and data entry
- Deadline-driven with excellent time management ability
- Bilingual skills a plus
Education and Experience Requirements:
- 1-3 years of general accounting experience
- 1-3 years of experience working with payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Additional qualification (e.g. CPA or CFA) a plus
