Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Network Support Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess both desktop support and strong network support skills. As a part of the role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting network issues, providing support for network devices, and working with remote teams to maintain and optimize network systems.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the remote networking team to identify network diagrams and take appropriate actions based on their requests.
- Install, configure, and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Racking and un-racking of network hardware, ensuring correct cabling and positioning of equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve networking issues, including connectivity, performance, and configuration problems.
- Utilize tools like PuTTY and other similar software to access, configure, and troubleshoot routers or switches.
- Provide real-time support to end-users, assisting with network-related queries and troubleshooting.
- Ensure network devices are functioning properly, performing regular system checks, and applying updates as needed.
- Maintain network security and performance by following best practices for routing, switching, and firewall management.
- Document network configurations, changes, and incidents to track ongoing issues and improvements.
- Assist in network upgrades, testing, and performance tuning.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in desktop support with strong knowledge of network support concepts.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
- Experience in racking and un-racking network equipment and managing network cable installations.
- Proficiency with network troubleshooting tools such as PuTTY, Wireshark, or similar software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
- Experience providing real-time networking support and answering network-related questions.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with remote teams.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
