Position Summary:
The Commercial Lines Select Business Agent is a member of the Select Business Unit (SBU) team, which focuses on serving small to medium-sized enterprises. In this position, you will be responsible for providing quotes and selling insurance policies to new clients, as well as addressing client inquiries regarding policy modifications, updates, and coverage-related questions. Additionally, cross-selling may be necessary to guarantee that clients possess adequate insurance coverage.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Supports a book of business by responding to client emails and calls promptly, answering coverage questions, billing questions, and resolving client and carrier issues.
- Foresees customers' insurance needs, such as policy renewals or amending existing policies.
- Customizes insurance accounts to suit individual clients, often covering a variety of risks.
- Completes comparison quotes for current clients with all carriers.
- Processes policy changes, cancellations, new policies, and rewritten policies in carrier systems and in agency management systems.
- Sets up new prospects and clients in the agency management system. Adds all referral sources and connections.
- Quotes multiple carriers and determines the best plan with the best carrier.
- Presents proposal to prospect, explaining coverages and pricing. Conducts sales meetings over the phone.
- Follows insurance laws as well as multiple carrier guidelines and eligibility rules.
- Any other duties and tasks that are required by the Company.
- Specific Direction: Follows established work procedures. Receives periodic checks for performance. Refers unique questions/conditions to immediate supervisor.
- No supervision: No supervisory responsibilities.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Associates degree specializing in Business or equivalent work experience.
- Three (3) or more years of Account Management experience.
- Property & Casualty Insurance License required.
- Ability to work onsite in a full-time or hybrid capacity (management discretion).
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Warm, approachable, savvy and empathetic. Creating trust is a key function of this role.
- Knowledgeable in project management principles. Can operationalize key organizational strategies.
