The Nursery Department Leader plays a pivotal role in the success of Overland Park Garden Center, overseeing the teams responsible for Trees and Shrubs and Plant Installers. This leader must possess excellent communication skills to work directly with the team members to ensure seamless customer service.
Key responsibilities include leadership, management, accountability, and guest experience. As a leader, you will be responsible for guiding your team towards achieving a common goal – exceptional customer satisfaction and providing unique shopping experiences. You will oversee core processes involving the Nursery department and foster an environment that encourages commitment, urgency, and accountability.
Some of the auxiliary role functions include supporting and communicating with department managers, store manager, general manager, and nursery team. Additionally, you will be responsible for assessing and scheduling staffing needs based on business performance, managing recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training of greenhouse team members, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
