JOB PURPOSE: The Director of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for providing comprehensive oversight to the corporate revenue cycle operation. This position provides leadership to the Central Billing Office team and has operational responsibility for all billing quality management strategies and plans including resources, systems, and timelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures the successful execution of all billing functions including billing, collections, denials, payment review, cash posting, refunds, Precertification, and customer service.
- Completes monthly billing audit overview and education.
- Responsible for policy and procedure manual and updates.
- Collaborates with EHR/EMR personnel managing software set up and configuration of off-site third-party billing personnel with outpatient/hospital revenue management.
- Completes financial reports out to Controller daily/monthly/quarterly.
- Tracks trending revenue, error, and denials.
- Responsible for payer contract agreements review and proposals.
- Builds and maintains relationships with leadership within the payers and political parties.
- Markets the organization’s product with referring facilities and through community service.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management, finance or another related field preferred.
- Ten years of progressively more responsible experience in leading billing and data reconciliation teams with five years of senior leadership experience preferred.
- Experience leading billing team on behalf of a hospital or large outpatient clinics.
- 2 years working with government payer and a good understanding of government system.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and spelling and office ethics.
- Previous experience with computer terminals preferred.

- Experience with leading company-wide initiatives a must, including organization wide collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and grow multifunctional teams.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Demonstrated experience in building high performing billing and reconciliation teams.
- Ability to problem-solve while directing multiple projects.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
