SUMMARY :
The Jig Maker is responsible for designing, fabricating, and maintaining jigs and fixtures used in the production of high-quality patio furniture. The ideal candidate will have experience in metalworking, woodworking, or a similar field, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following :
DEPARTMENTAL DUTIES :
- Create and design jigs and fixtures to ensure the accurate, efficient, and safe assembly of patio furniture components. Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop and modify jigs for new or custom furniture designs.
- Support the production floor by providing jigs that ensure precision and repeatability during assembly, welding, cutting, and other manufacturing processes.
- Select and prepare materials (e.g., metals, wood, plastics) for jig fabrication, ensuring proper handling and usage according to the specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on jigs and fixtures to ensure they are functioning at optimal capacity. Troubleshoot and repair jigs as needed to minimize production downtime.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to create jigs that align with the product requirements and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure that jigs meet strict quality standards and verify the accuracy and consistency of parts produced using the jigs. Maintain high levels of craftsmanship and attention to detail in all work.
- Work closely with other departments, including production, engineering, and design, to ensure the correct functioning and proper utilization of jigs in the manufacturing process.
- Maintain accurate records of jig designs, maintenance schedules, and any changes made to jigs or fixtures.
- Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and the work area.
- Must be able to properly and safely lift up to 50 lbs. pounds.
