We are seeking a full-time Carpenter to join our Team. This individual will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure quality project delivery, acting in General Contracting and Construction Management.
Job responsibilities include:
- Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to grasp requirements fully
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
- Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements
- Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
- Create structures for pouring concrete
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding
- Build scaffolding and other construction structures
- Comply with legal requirements and building codes
- Work closely with project clients, project site superintendents, project managers
- Handling and transporting objects and materials
- Strong communication abilities with Supervisors, Peers, and Subordinates
- Perform work in accordance with safety best practices
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition
- Move and install machinery
- Conduct building inspections and identify needed repairs
- Document repairs and maintain thorough records
- Cut, shape, and alter materials as needed
- Build and install doors, cabinets, and windows
- This role requires outdoor work in all weather conditions, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proven experience as a Carpenter
- Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Good understanding of basic math
- Good physical condition and endurance
- Carpentry Certification preferred
- Ability to read construction plans and elevations
- Creative and confident in ability to solve problems as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
