POSITION GOAL:
Promote the success of each child in elementary mathematics intervention programs through direct and support services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide specialized or individualized instruction in the classroom or in a pull-out situation to support students meet grade level benchmarks with the Mathematics program.
2. Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher, MTSS, and other staff (special education, reading, specials, support staff, etc.) to provide effective instruction for all students.
3. Research and provide appropriate resources for staff and parents.
4. Assist with assessment and diagnosis to inform instructional interventions, and to provide information to classroom teachers and parents.
5. Assist classroom teachers in designing instruction for class, specific groups or individual students.
6. Assist classroom teachers in using math assessments and interpreting and using results for instructional decision-making.
7. Support individual teachers who may need assistance in developing, adapting, and/or implementing mathematics lessons to meet the needs of students needing support.
8. Model strategies or techniques, conduct demonstration or co-teaching lessons if schedule permits and under the direction of the principal and/or K-12 Math Supervisor.
9. Provide instructional guidance to paraprofessionals working in classrooms.
10. Conduct staff development activities for teachers and parents.
11. Implement building Title 1 or math support programs where applicable.
12. Provide monthly teacher schedules to the district Compliance Coordinator (signed by the principal).
13. Adhere to Pennsylvania Code of Professional Conduct.
14. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians by means of conferences, notes, phone calls, email, digital communication, and newsletters.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary.
1. Bachelor’s Degree.
2. Elementary Education K-6 Certification for Middle Level Math (4-8) preferred.
3. Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents.
4. Ability to express self clearly and concisely in oral and written communications; and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.
5. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs; to plan and assist teachers in implementing lessons based on curriculum objectives and the needs and abilities of students.
6. Well organized with good time management skills.
7. Computer literate and competent with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
8. Submission of PA School Personnel Health form.
9. Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. 192 days, 7 hours 25 minutes per day.
2. Bachelor's Degree starting $56,000; Master's Degree starting $64,000 (2025- 2026 school year); Final salary determined by education and experience.Salary and benefits according to the negotiated agreement between the Board of School Directors and the Roberts Education Association.
