Join the fun at Owensboro Racing & Gaming! We are hiring for a Cage Manager to lead Cage Operations at our new facility, Owensboro Racing & Gaming. CDI’s newest state-of-the-art venue, Owensboro Racing & Gaming, features 600 state-of-the-art historical racing machines (HRMs), a retail sportsbook, simulcast wagering, and multiple food and beverage offerings.
SUMMARY
The Owensboro Racing and Gaming Cage Manager is responsible for overseeing both the Cage and Count Team’s internal procedures, monitoring transactions, department budgets, and investigating variances to protect company assets.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develops and manages the budget for Cash Operations department.
- Review and manage the department’s financial data.
- Responsible for the overall success and responsibility for managing all operations related to the Cage, Count/Drop, and Sports Wagering.
- Review staffing levels in accordance with business needs and budget standards. Delegates duties and assign responsibilities.
- Develops successful and consistent operations for Cash Operations by communicating with operational departments to provide service, promotion, and special event information.
- Ensures all staff are knowledgeable about marketing promotions and gaming events.
- Development of Team Members, interviewing, hiring, and performance evaluations
- Completes and processes performance reviews for direct reports.
- Manages, trains, and enforces procedures to safeguard the casino’s assets, funds, and player information.
- Ensures the safety and security of team members and guests. Facilitate processes and programs and processes to control and reduce loss time injuries effectively.
- Manages all policies, including but not limited to corporate procedures, Internal Controls, and both state and federal guidelines for casino banking player information being followed.
- Reports Cash Operations activities to the Sr. Director of Finance.
- May act as Managerial Representative on premises.
- Meets with Departmental Directors and Managers as necessary.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
- Management abilities demonstrated in managing the Cage department with operational effectiveness.
- Strong working knowledge of BSA/AML/Title 31 and internal control systems.
- Effective management of the staff.
- Public relations and guest service skills
- Maintaining a professional working relationship among all personnel.
- Oral and written communication skills.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance Administration, or three (3) to five (5) years of relevant work experience.
LICENSING & CERTIFICATION
Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license and a Race and Sportsbook Employee License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
The employee is regularly required to stand, speak, hear, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally be required to sit. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, color and depth perception, and peripheral vision. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds. When working in the office, the noise level is moderately quiet. When on the casino floor, the noise level may be loud, and the employee will possibly be exposed to cigarette smoke on the casino floor.
