The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing strategic direction, opportunities, and customer & vendor relationships that support the growth of the CC&N portfolio with an emphasis on the DAS business segment. This position, ideally with a home base in Brookfield, WI is expected to travel up to 50% of the time and reports to the President.
Essential Functions:
- Intentionally interact and create lasting relationships with existing customer base to retain current business and proactively work to grow CC&N’s market share.
- Support proactive market assessment, target customer identification, and sales plan development to achieve business growth objectives.
- Demonstrate ability to deliver differentiated value solutions in partnership with key manufacturer and distribution partners.
- Meet or exceed annually assigned Revenue and Operating Income targets.
- Develop and execute financial and operational strategic plans to drive sustainable growth.
- Utilize customer relationship management (CRM) database to track sales activities and assist with Forecasting of both financials and resource needs.
- Liaise with customers to manage sales and post-sales activity, in partnership with internal design, and project management teams.
- Ensure customer communications are executed consistently, efficiently, and effectively, and are in alignment with the project solution and project plan.
- Generate and interpret various sales metric reports to manage Regional and National sales strategy.
- Interact regularly with Design and Project Management teams for proposal generation and follow-up as well as ensuring project quality assurance, adherence to industry and CC&N standards and completion within budgeted dollars.
- Participate in Bid Reviews to ensure appropriate strategy and alignment with financial goals and targets.
- Prepare, present and attend company, customer and vendor meetings as required.
- Promote adherence to operational processes and provide guidance and direction on continual process improvement.
- Partner with Marketing support team to define goals, audiences, unique value proposition, brand personality and positioning language for the organization.
- Plan and organize work with a sense of urgency, personal accountability, and professionalism consistent with that of the CC&N culture.
Education/Skills/Experience:
- College degree or equivalent experience in sales or business management
- Demonstrated customer relationship-building experience that has led to sustained business growth
- Experience proposing and executing strategic growth initiatives aligned with company objectives
- C-Level Customer and leadership presentation skills consistent with a needs-based sales approach
- Ability to travel (up to 50%) within the 48 contiguous United States
- Track record of establishing prioritized customer calls and work plans, as well as problem-solving and responding to customer issues
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
- Computer skills utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred
- Knowledge of telecommunication and data network cabling and connectivity in both installation and testing procedures
- 7 years in the industry with combined business development and/or account management experience
- RCDD Certification
- BICSI Certification
