POSITION OVERVIEW
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations, service, warehouse inventory, shipping and receiving, facility maintenance, and safety for the Fruit Division in California which includes locations in Woodland, Crows Landing, Madera, Visalia, and Bakersfield. This role will lead the equipment assembly operations, manage the service department to ensure excellent support for existing customers, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment. The Plant Manager plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, optimizing processes, and ensuring the highest quality standards in equipment manufacturing and service delivery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manufacturing Operations:
· Oversees all aspects of equipment manufacturing operations, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and deadlines are met while adhering to existing product BOM and routing requirements.
· Working with sales and purchasing, develops production schedule and executes all aspects of schedule through use of ERP system.
· Provides effective direction, personnel scheduling, and coordination of all production and supply chain activities to ensure products are delivered to customers in a high quality, timely, and cost-effective manner.
· Works with Engineering to ensure products meet design requirements and quality standards.
· Communicates design and build issues through corrective actions using the ECR process.
· Implements and optimizes manufacturing processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety.
· Collaborates with engineering and product development teams to implement design improvements.
· Oversees and supports the Production Manager in executing daily operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
· Maintains production records including quality compliance and job tracking. Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls.
· Applies and maintains safety requirements and work guidelines as outlined in the Employee Manual.
Service Department Management:
· Leads the service department to provide timely and effective repairs and maintenance for customers’ equipment.
· Works with the Service Managers to develop strategies to enhance customer support and improve response times.
· Ensures service teams have the necessary resources, tools, and training to perform high-quality repairs.
· Monitors service performance metrics and drives continuous improvement.
Warehouse Oversight:
· Through use of ERP system and cycle counts, monitors inventory levels and coordinates with procurement for timely material availability.
· Oversees all shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
· Supports the development and implementation of best practices for inventory management, reducing waste and improving efficiency.
· Oversees and supports the Warehouse Manager in ensuring efficient warehouse operations.
Facility & Safety Oversight:
· Oversees maintenance and operations of all plant facilities, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
· Ensures the site meets all regulatory safety requirements and implements best practices for workplace safety.
· Supervises site safety personnel and ensures compliance with OSHA and company policies.
· Oversees the planning and execution of facility upgrades, expansions, and maintenance as needed.
· Works closely with the Operations Manager to ensure smooth facility operations and adherence to safety protocols.
Other Responsibilities:
· Implements continuous improvement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
· Establishes and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) for all operational departments.
· Supports effective and efficient business practice.
· Embraces and follows all safety policies, procedures, and programs.
· Maintains positive business relationships, good attendance, punctuality, and acts in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
· Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develops, coaches, and mentors peers, indirect, and subordinate staff.
· Fosters a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
· Assigns special projects to support efficient business practices and strategic objectives of the Production and Service Departments.
· Promotes good working relationships and teamwork among staff.
· Responsible for the supervision of employee time and the timely review and approval of employee timecards.
· Directly involved in hiring, performance management, and termination decisions for direct reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or related field plus 6 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role – OR – High School diploma plus 10 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role.
· 2 years’ experience in a maintenance or engineering leadership role.
· Proven ability to lead high-performing teams
· Strong knowledge of production planning, lean manufacturing principles, and process optimization
· Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices
· Proficiency in ERP and manufacturing software systems
· Proficient in using basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office
· Good understanding and ability to execute fundamental math concepts
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to manage multiple priorities
· Strong problem-solving, decision-making, time-management, and organizational skills.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work collaboratively with team members
· Must have a valid CA driver’s license and ability to drive a company vehicle.
· Must be willing and able to drive for work on a regular basis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience managing a service department or customer support function
· Manufacturing leadership experience in agricultural equipment or heavy machinery
· Familiarity with the agriculture industry
· Bilingual in English and Spanish

Pay: $130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
