We are looking to recruit a Senior Research Associate to join the Vector Engineering team. The objective of the role will be to focus on the development of plasmids to facilitate improved AAV manufacturing.
The Vector Engineering team focuses on understanding AAV biology to improve productivity and drug quality during viral vector manufacturing through plasmid design. As an innovation-driven CDMO, we also support vector genome and plasmid design for clients, enhancing the production of materials to support their preclinical programs and facilitating the advancement of life-changing viral vector therapeutics into clinical development.
This Bedford, MA based position is an exciting opportunity to shape the strategic direction of Viral Vector downstream process development within a dynamic CDMO environment.
Your responsibilities in this role would be :
- Support the design and execution experiments aimed at improving AAV productivity and product quality using a suspension cell platform
- Clone and characterize plasmids used in vector production
- Develop and perform of a variety of molecular biology assays including PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE / Western blotting, molecular cloning etc.
- Organize and maintain plasmid stock inventory and liaise with upstream process development to facilitate transfer of plasmids as needed
- Maintain appropriate production protocols and analytical results in company databases and electronic lab notebooks and author technical reports as needed
