What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. ATE (ETS) Test Development Engineer position at Oxford Global Resources?
Job Details
Position Title: Sr. ATE Test Development Engineer
Location: Onsite in Santa Clara, CA
Length of Contract: 9-12 months at least, most likely extension, potential conversion.
Hours: 40 hours
Start Date: ASAP
Process: 2 rounds of interview. First is Teams or Zoom meeting with hiring manager for 30-45 minutes. Second round for 1.5 hours with 2-3 members of the technical team, another manager, etc.
Background Check Required
Scope: Client does precision timing devices that are used across many HW platforms and throughout the semiconductor industry. Client has several open roles on the permanent side AND contract side due to bandwidth being strained and stretched very thin. Multiple projects in flight in parallel and they do not have enough hands-on deck. Client also has current consultants on from another vendor that are mediocre. They only follow instructions and execute the tests they do not make logical conclusions and assist with understanding the test cases, analyzing the test scripts, debugging, troubleshooting, etc. Client needs resources that can actually read and interpret test scripts (written in C ) and understand why decisions are being made. Need to be able to analyze the tests and run them and make critical thinking on the outputs. If the reliability is off, then dig into the WHAT and the WHY of the tests to troubleshoot and reach the desired outcome. Client does lots of calibration and there are fairly complicated scripts to calibrate the timing products during test, so they need someone with a bit more of an engineering mindset, can actually read and interpret what is being tested and why.
Duties/Responsibilities:

From the initial product development kick-off until end of life, the ATE Test Development Engineer will be responsible for defining ATE test hardware and software and supporting the launch of new products into high volume production. This includes board-level hardware design, algorithm development, software implementation and validation on both custom and standard automated test equipment (ATE) platforms.

- Knowledge of analog electronics and experience with board-level design and debug.
- Experience in statistical analysis of test data.
- Hands-on experience with electronics lab instrumentation.
- Prior experience with metrology systems for evaluating timing parameters is preferred but not required.
