The Oxford Hills School District is seeking excellent candidates for the position of Social Worker for the Oxford Hills Middle School.
Oxford Hills Middle School serves approximately 500 students in grades 7-8. OHMS has two campuses located about 2 miles apart, one in South Paris and one in Oxford. The successful candidate will be passionate about instruction, student achievement, and best practices.
Candidates must hold a valid Maine LCSW, LMSW-cc, LCPC, or LCPC-c license.
- Must be able to build positive relationships with students and staff and work well as part of a team.
- Experience with children and adolescents with mental health and behavioral needs is preferred.
- A deep understanding of child development and social emotional learning is required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The clinician will provide direct services to the general education population and students requiring such services per their IEP. The clinician will provide consultation to classroom and special education teachers to address the students’ identified social, emotional and behavioral needs.
- This position requires the clinician to be an active member of a special education team, engage in home/school communication and maintain accurate data and records that are relevant to planning, implementation, and evaluation of school social work services.
- The clinician will demonstrate the core values of service, social justice, importance of human relationships, dignity and worth of the student, integrity and competence. The clinician will adhere to the professional ethics and values in their code of ethics as a guide to ethical decision making.
- The clinician will have knowledge of and comply with all local, state and federal mandates related to informed consent, privacy and confidentiality.
- The clinician has skills and knowledge for effective clinical intervention and understands and utilizes evidenced-informed practices.
Reports to: Building Administrator and Director of Special Education
