POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Supervisor oversees day-to-day maintenance operations, troubleshooting and addressing issues with the hotel's physical plant to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for guests and employees. This working supervisory position actively participates in maintenance tasks while assisting in leading and supporting the maintenance team. The Maintenance Supervisor ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and company standards and regulations, maintaining sanitation, cleanliness, and safety protocols. Additionally, this role may provide guest transportation as requested.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times.
Maintenance Operations (40%):
- Responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Maintenance Department
- Assist in Inventory, stocking and ordering of supplies
- Performs maintenance operations for the exterior and interior facilities including electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating and cooling, structural and other maintenance work to maintain the property in an optimum and efficient condition
- Prepare for daily trash removal, pool & spa maintenance, grounds, key control, kitchen cleaning, security rounds, room availability and reader board message updates
- Maintain all distribution systems for electricity, water, gas and other systems as appropriate
- Schedule all work to be done at a minimum of inconvenience to guests
- Coordinate frequently with maintenance team, Front desk and bistro staff to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
- Assisting with implementation of company programs and supervise daily operations to comply with SOPs, maintain cleanliness ratings, and motivate team members
- Ensure all equipment is functional, reporting high level maintenance issues immediately, prevent loss of revenue or supplies due to malfunction
- Assist in training new employees and providing continuous on-the-job training
Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures. Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations. Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager.
Safety & Preventative Maintenance (20%):
- Conduct continuous inspections of the building, grounds and public areas to ensure compliance with OSHA, fire & safety laws, and OHG standards and regulations correcting any potential safety hazards or cleanliness issues
- Possess complete knowledge and keep current on the emergency procedures for the property
- Oversee preventative maintenance programs for guest rooms, public areas, hotel-equipment and carpet care
- Ensure standards of quality control and regularly scheduled preventative programs (i.e., floor care, room PMs, ice machines, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment.) are maintained
- Inspect randomly selected rooms for quality
- Maintain organized work areas and equipment in alignment with sanitation and cleanliness standards whiling ensuring equipment operating logs are up to date
- Assist property leadership in meeting and exceeding all company benchmarks for preventative maintenance, response time, customer satisfaction, etc.
Leadership & Supervision (20%):
- Always provide a high level of customer service, taking time with our guests to ensure every aspect of their stay is up to expectations
- Assist in supervising and mentoring maintenance staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently while reinforcing best practices and safety protocols
- Monitor staff performance, providing on-the-job training, feedback, and support while escalating concerns to management as needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies, assisting with scheduling, reviewing time and attendance records, and addressing discrepancies related to breaks and overtime
- Foster open communication and problem-solving, assisting in resolving team challenges and presenting solutions to management when necessary
- Serve as a role model for maintenance staff by demonstrating professionalism, strong work ethic, and adherence to safety and service standards
- Attend daily and weekly meetings in the manager’s absence, relaying key information to the team
Guest Relations (15%):
- Interact and acknowledge guests in a friendly and customer focused manner
- Attend to guest complaints and requests regarding guestroom services and assure appropriate follow-up
- Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with both internal and external guest
Other (5%):
- Works with front desk staff to ensure that the hotel meets cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
- May participate in the drivers program or other hotel-related duties as assigned

PREFFERED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 1 years of supervisory experience
- Experience / Training in: Commercial Refrigeration, Boilers, Plumbing, Air Conditioning, Building Construction, Carpentry, Fire Systems, Sewer and Water, Boilers, Electrical Breakers, Janitorial Services, Energy Conservation, Environmental, Hazardous Waste, Hygiene and Sanitation

- Valid Drivers License Required
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays
- Reliable and consistent attendance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, climb and walk on uneven surfaces on a frequent basis
- Must be able to walk, climb ladders and work outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
- Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside and frequently lift 50 lbs. and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects.
