Position Summary
The HR Assistant is responsible for the daily clerical functions necessary to the operation of the HR office.
Essential Job Duties
Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions. Requires extended periods of time viewing computer monitor or standing; may require adjustment of schedule to include some evening and/or weekends; may encounter occasional exposure to inclement weather during travel. *A successful candidate will have an opportunity for advancement to a full-time position when it comes available.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.

Essential Job Duties
- Assist all positions within Human Resources in daily operations as needed.
- Serve as office receptionist, responsible for greeting prospective and current employees, answering the telephone and routing calls as appropriate, and scheduling appointments.
- Manage approvals for HR Conference Room calendar.
- Manage preparation and delivery of FT employee anniversary card recognition.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail and prepare bulk mailings.
- Assist with clerical tasks of the Professional Development Institute (PDI).
- Assist with clerical tasks related to the hiring and onboarding process for employees.
- Scan and maintain documents, and some filing.
- Exhibit reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Comply with college policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting other team members with special projects.
- Assist in preparing annual longevity awards.
- One year of customer service experience.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).
- Two years of experience in office setting.
- Experience with Colleague.
- Experience working within a collegiate setting.
